The End

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about the last chapters of the book.

First of all I would like to thank you for reading my blog, It’s been amazing to share with you this beautiful book, and also to share my opinion.

Lena finally turned sixteen years old! And as we know, she had to make a choice between being dark or light. But this wasn’t so simple, because her mother killed Ethan!! I was totally in shock. I even shouted when I read that part of the book, I just couldn’t believe it! She preferred to kill her daughter’s boyfriend than her, because she knew that if she killed him, that would hurt her more.

So when Lena found out, she ran next to him and began to recite a spell of “The Book of the Moons” and brings him back to life! But it all comes with a price, so Macon, Lena’s uncle, sacrificed himself for Ethan, and he dies.

Poor Lena, I think that that should have been hard for her, I mean, What would you prefer that your uncle, that is like a father for you dies, or you boyfriend? Personally I wouldn’t know what to do.

Look at this scene of the book that describes this perfectly, and that also made me felt a lump in my throat.

“No! No! No! One minute I was screaming, the next, the sound was stuck in my throat. I remember Ethan falling. I remember my mother smiling. The glint of the knife, and the blood. Ethan’s blood. This couldn’t be happening.”

Finally, after Macon’s dead, it was time for Lena to be chosen by the dark or the light… and in the end… it was both of them. Yes, Lena was half dark, half light, and that also made her look a little bit scary, because she had one eye green, and the other golden the symbol of the dark casters.

What its left for me to say, is that I really enjoyed the book. I couldn’t stop reading it because all the time was exciting, romantic and dangerous. I definitely can’t wait to read the second part of these brilliant saga, “Beautiful Darkness.”

New Words:

·      Wretched- When someone is in a terrible state.
-The wretched conditions of the patients were terrible.
·      Narrow- Limited in outlook.
-The sun was so bright that I had to narrow my eyes.
·      Stubbled- Not shaved.
-He rubs his stubbled cheeks.

Part 4

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about the chapters that I read last week.

I’m super excited because Lena and Ethan found the book that they need so that Lena can break the curse, the book is called “The Book of the Moons” and they had to dig up into the grave of one of Lena’s family member. I was totally scared in this part of the book!

But I think that the most shocking part of the book was to discover that Lena’s mother was alive! And not only that, she wanted to kill Lena!! Definitely, this chapters made my heart beat like crazy!

And look at this beautiful and romantic scene of the book.

“She looked up at me, and the whole world disappeared. Like there was just us, like there would always be just us, and we didn’t need magic for that. It was sort of happy and sad, all at the same time. I couldn’t be around her without feeling things, without feeling everything.”

Awww Don’t you love Ethan? I think that the thing that I enjoy the most of this book is the romance, because it’s so natural, innocent and dangerous at the same time that makes it totally perfect.

New Words
•Gullible- Naive or being too trusting.
- She had been gullible, but they couldn’t blame her, she was only 10 years old.

•Glowers- An angry look.
-The teacher glowers at her because of his silly answer.

•Blubbering- To sob noisily.
-I couldn’t stop blubbering while I was lying on my bed thinking about the past.

Part 3

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about the last chapters I read on the weekend.

Well, first of all, I want to say that I am really happy because Lena and Ethan are getting closer and closer! And because they found a person that its going to help them to figure out about the curse and how to break it.

This person is Marian Ashcroft, the Gatlin Country Head librarian, and the best friend of Ethan’s mom, but she is not only a typical human librarian, she is “The Keeper” the one that keeps the books and secrets of the Casters.

And check this out! This is a phrase that they found in a letter of Ethan’s great-great-great-uncle, I think is totally romantic.

“The days without you bleed together until time is nothing more than another obstacle we must overcome”.

Don’t you think is super cute?

Well, and to make things even more interesting, in the Halloween night, Ethan saved Lena, from a dark power that got inside of her head, and was almost killing her, and nobody, not even her family could help her.

And look at this amazing phrase that said Lena’s aunt to her uncle.

“It’s not the house that protects her. It’s the boy. I’ve never seem anything like it. No Caster can come between them.”

New Words:

·      Scheme- An elaborate plan of action, or a strategy.
-We have to scheme our revenge, what he did was totally unfair.

·      Old Coot- an eccentric person.
-That man is an old coot, he is always trying to be the center of attention.

·      Lingered- Stay in a place for a long time because you don’t want to leave.
-The boy lingered in the beach, enjoying the warm of the sun.

Part 2

Hello everybody, well today I’m going to talk about what I read this last days.

First of all I want to say that I am totally falling in love with this book… and maybe of the main character. I can’t help it! Ethan is so sweet, supportive, protective, and intelligent… Just perfect! Well, he has his defects, but I would totally love to date someone like him.

I want to share with you this cute phrase that he says.

“I found myself smiling for no reason, keeping my earphones in and replaying our conversations in my head, just so I could listen to them again.”

Lets begin. Remember that in one of my lasts posts I told you that Ethan and Lena had found a locket with Lena’s birthday and Ethan’s initials, written on it? Well, they discovered that the initials were from Ethan’s great-great-great-uncle, and the locket belongs to a woman related to Lena. I was totally shocked! Its like if Lena and Ethan were destined to be together by their ancestors! Because it’s not only the locket, they share dreams, visions and they can communicate with each other with their minds.

And finally the part that we were waiting for… Lena told him the truth about her and her family, she told him that they are know as the “Casters” that are a type of witches, that can control magic and supernatural powers.

They are divided in two spices, the “good ones” and the “bad ones” but Lena’s family had a curse and at the age of 16 the Casters are chosen by the light or the dark without any choice or alternative, and Lena its about to turn 16 in a few months, so she is worry about her future, because she doesn’t want to be choosen by the dark.

And to get things even worse! Ridley, Lena’s cousin, arrives to the town, and tries to seduce Ethan and convince Lena to get into the dark side with her. I totally hate Ridley! I can’t believe she is ruining everything, not only Lena’s life, her relationship!

But the good thing, or maybe the scary one too, was that in the last chapters I read, Amma, Ethan’s nana, had a secret reunion with Mr. Ravenwood and she gave him a type of charm, so that he can protect her niece. Apparently Amma it’s a type of witch too!!

New Words:

·      Penchant- A strong inclination or preference for something.

-I have a penchant for sweets and cakes.

·      Summoned- To request or date someone to appear or do something.

-The judge summoned into court everyone in town

·      Stroke- an impact, blow or hit.

-The baseball player had to make two strokes to win the game.
